The secluded islands are hiding spots for the wildlife in recluse. Go with your backpack and a water bottle and enter the natural habitat of the Seychelles family. The distant chirping of birds and the smell of freedom is enough to throw anyone off the board. Sunsets at Seychelles is luxury at its best
The topaz waters of tranquillity wash right over to where you are sitting. The water shies away at the sand sprinkled around for miles to see. The trees blush, flush and flutter profusely at the exchange between the beach. The sun scorches everyone in delight. The air expresses its giddiness and knocks you over. This is precisely what Seychelles feels like. A Honeymooner’s Paradise.
This is the perfect place to fall off the grid of the earth. MLMT calls you to join us on heaven. The heaven called Seychelles.
When to visit?
The islands are blessed with an entire year full of beautiful weathers. When you must go depends on the type of experience you want and when you want to run off. The months of April, May, October, and November are the most pristine months for all the water bodies. Go with your snorkeling and swimming gear and experience peace at its best.
Average Cost per Person
Seychelles is as exclusive as travel can get. Very few people are privileged to go to these almost uninhabited islands and thankfully they have not been exploited yet. The trip can start at its very basic from about 70,000 and go right up to the exuberance of 1,45,000 rupees. Pack your bags soon. This place will not remain this serene forever.
Visa Requirements
This is one of the calmest places to visit and makes you smile with the warmth that they welcome you with. They are a Visa-free country. You can get a visitor’s permit if you wish to go. You can also get permission by invitation from family members, relatives, and friends living there. You have to show a valid return and visit date and duration to get in.
Where to visit?
Victoria:
This marks the smallest capital cities ever seen. Victoria might be the largest city in Seychelles, but it is still minuscule by comparison. The waft on a small provincial town comes from this city right to your nostrils. It is a cute little city, and if you really let the beauty of it in, it will beckon you to stay. It is a city against a lovely wallpaper of hills that unknowingly converge into the sea.
Best Places to stay in Victoria
Praslin:
Praslin is a hook. It reels you in slowly with all the things there are to savor about it. It is the exact Seychelles experience you had in mind. It starts you off with the luxurious resorts and velveteen forests of adventure. It takes you towards the cliffs opening into the sleepy waters and beaches lined with shells. It is the appropriate size, and you can never be too far from a person here. The bird life here is what it is known for.
Best Places to stay in Praslin
La Digue:
La Digue is the island where all creatures are in a slow, asleep trance. You go there to experience life at speed lower than anywhere else. The eyes sparkle as they fall onto the twinkle of the sea. Even though it is so beautiful, La Digue has managed to keep itself away from becoming as commercialized than Mahe or Praslin. There are barely any cars and being here positively radiates the experience of being on an episode of Lost.
Best Places to stay in La Digue
Fregate
Welcome to the hideaway of Hollywood. Guess where your stars come to run away? None other than this beautiful island that is not more than 20 minutes by helicopter. It is the island for the best in the world, and you have to be entirely somebody to go here.
The beaches here go to about 7 and are very famously voted as some of the best beaches in the world. Anse Victorin and Anse Maquereau are two of the best.
Best Places to stay in Fregate
There are almost no known places to stay here. Most people only come here for a visit and then stay at Felicite or La Digue islands.
Alphonse Island:
Welcome to one of the best fly-fishing destinations in the world. This is roughly 400 km away from Mahe and is the right place for all water activities. The kind of dedication they have in promoting the art of diving has never been seen before around the Indian Ocean. It is a small island occupied mainly by flora and fauna island that looks like a shark’s tooth if looked at from the sky. There are a lot of destinations very close by snorkeling etc.
Best Places to stay in Alphonse
Here as well there are very few hotels, but there might be undocumented homes stays that might come out after talking to the locals. The neighboring islands have places to visit as well.
Top Experiences
Fly-Fishing
Alphonse is one of the biggest fly fishing hubs in the world. The fly fishing champs lose it with giddiness with the thought of coming here and going about the waters. They tread softly in this zone because it is sacred ground for all warm water bodies.
Galapagos of the Indian Ocean
Seychelles will have you on a wild goose chase regarding wildlife. They are very famously known for it. They are full of endangered and unheard species of amphibians and birds. The birding culture here is enormous. Walk and see Seychelles with your eyes wide open. Your cameras won’t stand a chance in trying to replicate the beauty.
Honeymoon Package
This is the spot to be for your honeymoons. Sit by the crystal sea with a bottle of stars curled up with your love. Experience sunsets blushing in response. There is nothing quite like that. There are a lot of special honeymoon packages and even wedding planners here. Get married right here, in paradise.
Island Hopping Marathon
There are more islands in Seychelles than you can visit. And unlike in the Maldives, it is not crowded and is very enjoyable. Book yourself an island-hopping tour and go from island to island. Each has a charm of its own. It can be a day tour or a more extended trip.
Food Fest
Do not miss out on the Creole cuisine. It has been influenced by a lot of cultures like African, French, Indian and Chinese cuisines. This is an excellent mix of cuisines. You just have to try out their grilled fish, bat curry, and breadfruit chips. It is nothing like what you have tasted before.
Travel Smart
Even though the mosquitos that provide you with malaria are absent in Seychelles, do not think the rest of the insect life will leave you alone. Do not lie on the sand, stick to your chairs or you will come back marked for days.
You cannot acquire the Seychelles rupee before coming here. They do accept two or three other foreign currency though. But it is a conventional logic that you will have to give change in the Seychelles rupee. Taking this money outside the country is illegal. But this is funny as the currency is not accepted there anyway. It renders it pointless.
Make sure you check the expiry dates of each packet you buy. So many people have faced problems with receiving goods that were way out of time. This can be really disastrous for everyone. Do not ruin your trip. Check things before you buy them!
The sun sets really early here. So, by about 6.30 the sky outside is pitch dark and traveling in this is very hard. Make sure you plan your days right and go to the hotels on time. Also, this reduces the time of the day you have for activities.
