When to visit?
For the best colors and comfortable skies go to Italy from April to June and mid-September to October. You might run into a bit of traffic around Easter though. July to September calls for the biggest of crowds and suffocation is likely. May and June see the highest hotel prices in most places around Italy.

There are so many places that move around the clock. Countries are full of people running around at all times. But not Italy. These people like to savor time and breathe a little bit. Italy takes there 1-4 pm fiesta very seriously. Most shops shut down so the owners can go home and get some well-deserved rest.

The restaurants start shop late, and hence dinners don’t begin till 7. Most restaurants don’t ask or take a tip. But there is a concept called coperto. This is their version of service tax, and you have to give at least 1-5 euros to sit at a table. This is for locals and foreigners alike.
- Italian
Italians are amicable people and will try to help you as much as they can. But to honor their friendliness knowing a few words like, “Ciao” meaning hello and bye,” Gracias” meaning thank you and “Non-Capisco” meaning I don’t understand will be helpful. It will definitely get a smile on their faces.
- Validate your tickets
Busying train or bus tickets is not enough for you to make it inside the transport system. You must validate the card at the little machines present there to show that you used the ticket then and there. If you do not do this, there is a lot of fine on your conscience.
